Great days out in Croatia
1. Motodrom
Motodrom is Porec's go-kart race track. 3-speed karts are available for racing or for practice sessions, and wide screen coverage of sporting events can be viewed from the large terrace.
2. Diving Centre
Diving takes place from the beach and by boat on the Adriatic Sea. The centre includes a diving school where instructors are available for lessons. Equipment can be rented. Specialist courses are available on request.
3. Rovinj Aquarium
Established in 1891 and considered one of the best in the area. Look out for poisonous scorpion fish and colourful anemones or admire the wealth of fauna from the Adriatic sea bed. Back to top
4. The Museum of History
Situated in a 17th century Venetian citadel. The exhibits lean heavily on maritime history but the views of Pula from the citadel walls are worth the trip.
5. Regional Museum of Porec
First open in 1884, this museum now contains over 2000 exhibits spanning the turbulent history of the region. As well as furniture and artefacts, there are mosaic fragments dating from the 3rd century.
6. Labin Town Museum
This museum has been built over a coal pit which has been turned into a realistic recreation of a worked coalmine. Visitors can make their way through tunnels and view traditional collections of the times.
7. Native Museum
This museum is situated in a Baroque palace dating from the 18th century, and contain a special collection of portraits and objects from the Carli family whose last descendants lived in Porec.
