Pisa – visit the Campo dei Miracoli in Pisa, to find the remarkable leaning tower, bapistry and cathedral.

Things to do in Sardinia

Alghero – explore the labyrinth of narrow lanes in the charming old town enclosed by ancient Catalan walls

Grotta di Nettuno – an hour long boat ride from Alghero marina takes you to this remarkable series of caves with a beautiful collection of stalagmites and stalactites.

Aquadream – a trip to this waterpark in Baja is an excellent day out for all the family. There are slides here of every description - if you're feeling brave try out the Black Hole and King Kong twister slides.

Things to do in Rome

Vatican City – the smallest independent state in existence and one of Rome's most popular tourist spots. While here visit the Basilica di San Pietro, Piazza San Pietro and the Sistine Chapel.

The Colosseum – this massive structure started by Vespasian in 72AD could seat up to 50,000 people and was used to hold gladiator shows. Children will love the gruesome past - it makes for a fascinating visit.

Getting there

Short sea crossing
From Calais it is a 907 mile drive to Florence. The Tuscan Coast is around a 900 mile drive and Rome is 1,000 miles from Calais.

By air
There are many low-cost airlines operating routes into Italy. Florence and the Tuscan Coast can easily be reached from Pisa airport whilst Rome Ciampino is the best airport for our campsites near Rome. To get to our portfolio of campsites in Sardinia fly to either Alghero, Olbia or Cagliari airport and you will be on site in no time at all!
