The Colosseum – in its time, this awe inspiring structure could seat up to 50,000 people and was used to hold gladiator shows. Construction dates back to 72AD when it was begun by Vespasian. Young visitors will love its gruesome past - it makes for a fascinating visit when camping in Rome.
