The glacial origins of Lake Annecy feature impossibly blue waters that rightly deserve the status of Europe’s cleanest lake. The area around the waters are ideal for picturesque walks and hikes.
The town of Annecy lies at the northern point of the lake and boasts a few interesting tourist attractions such as the alais de l'Isle Island Prison Museum, Pont des Amours Bridge, Musée du Film d'animation Museum and Château d'Annecy.

The beautiful alpine landscapes are primed for walking, while the majestic Mont Blanc beckons experienced climbers up for the challenge of hiking trips.
Aravis, a mountain range lying halfway between the summit of Mont Blanc and the shimmering waters of Lake Annecy, also provides a scenic setting for hiking and walking. With a blend of green alpine terrain adorned with rivers, meadows, forest and mountain plateaux, it’s a great place for adventures in nature. The equally stunning Aiguilles Rouges Regional Nature Reserve offers another fine place for al fresco pursuits.
Dotted around the department are several villages, towns and hamlets that display the quaint way of life in Haute-Savoie, and are a great place to get a feel for the culture and cuisine of the department.
Famed throughout the world for its first class mineral water, Évian-les-Bains is a spa town that features a handful of nice attractions to see while visiting Haute-Savoie. Highlights of the town include the Pre-Curious Water Garden, Villa Lumière, Palais Lumière and riding the Funicular.
With an idyllic location on the banks of Lake Geneva, the historic town of Yvoire is teeming with nostalgia and features interesting remnants of its medieval past.
