The Loiret is a destination blessed with a wealth of natural heritage sites that offer the perfect place for both active recreations and relaxing pursuits. The lovely woodlands and ponds of the Sologne region are a great place to explore, either on foot or by bicycle. A diverse mix of plant life and wildlife live in the Sologne, as well as picturesque villages such as Chaumont-sur-Tharonne and Souvigny-en-Sologne. In Orléans Forest, walkers and hikers will love traversing the three distinct mountain areas of Massif d'Orléans, Massif d'Ingrannes and Massif de Lorris.
