In addition to the magnificent island landscapes, the archipelago sets the scene for a variety of activities. We recommend a day trip to Veli Losinj and Cres, both of which have been port towns since Roman times. The archipelago was once prosperous under the control of Venice before passing into the hands of the Austrians and the Italians until 1943.
During your visit to Veli Losinj, we advise you to stop to enjoy the old pastel-coloured houses around the historic port. From the town, you can access many hiking routes to get to numerous charming coves. You can also arrange boat trips to go dolphin spotting from the town.
One of the most amazing places on the island is undoubtedly Lubenice, a village located on a cliff, 383 meters above the sea. It is an old fortress and fantastic example of medieval Croatian architecture.
