Beautiful turquoise waters and a soft pebble beach decorate the serene cove occupied by Campsite Valkanela, a balmy resort between the scenic shore towns of Funtana and Vrsar in Istria. Beach holidays in Croatia on the stunning Adriatic Sea can be savoured in this wonderful camping resort lined with fragrant pine trees.
Long sunny days are best enjoyed either bathing in the inviting waters of the sea or splashing around in one of the resort’s three swimming pools. There’s a safe paddling spot especially reserved for young children and a generously sized sun terrace for relaxing on. The Blue Flag merited beach accessed directly from the campsite boasts crystal clear shallow water and unblemished shores.
A haven for holidaymakers looking to spend relaxing and peaceful escapes, Valkanela also caters well to active campers. Tennis, mini golf, table tennis and beach volleyball are available on dry land while thrilling water fun includes sea canoeing, pedal boating and snorkelling. Make your way to the games room to escape the midday sun and play some darts, table football or billiards. With respective clubs for young children and teenagers, there’s plenty of opportunity for kids to make friends and have fun while on holiday.
The resort has a wealth of amenities with dining and shopping options extending to 2 restaurants, 3 takeaways, a poolside bar, beach bar and mini market. Enjoy lovely vistas of the pool or gorgeous panoramas of the impossibly beautiful sea while you enjoy dining out. In the evening, the social areas come alive with entertainment for the whole family including live music, show and parties.
Most of our accommodation features air-conditioning as standard, while all options ensure spacious living areas, good camping amenities and comfortable lodgings. Whether you opt for a modern mobile home or a rustic tent, you’ll be positioned in well-shaded and private emplacements.
Most of your sunny days at the campsite are likely to be spent on the lovely beach on the edges of the resort. There are several types of water sports available close by including sea kayaking, jet skiing, and floating water parks.
As is the mark of the Istria peninsula, there are a few picturesque coastal towns and villages that are worthy of a day trip. The popular town of Poreč makes for a nice stop, while on your way to the thrilling water park found at Aquacolors. In the equally buzzing port town of Rovinj, visitors can marvel at lovely architecture and explore many more beaches, as well as taking a pleasant walk round the natural setting of Zlatni Rt park Forest.
Closer to the campsite, the quaint village of Vrsar offers a scenic promenade that’s great for romantic walks in the evening. Boat trips on the Lim bay are wonderful ways to feel the cooling wind in your hair while you appreciate the beauty of the channels green waters and valley.
