An oasis of peace in the heart of the Ardèche, 4* Campsite Le Petit Bois nestles on the eponymous river near the medieval town of Ruoms. A paradise for outdoor adventures in the Rhône-Alpes region of southeast France, the resort captures the imagination when it comes to relaxing and recreational escapes in the lap of nature.
The campsite itself features a wealth of facilities, including a swimming area with an indoor pool, outdoor pool, paddling pool with splash playground and water slides. Whether relaxing on the sun terrace or participating in an Aquagym session, the pool complex is one of the highlights of the resort. For rejuvenating moments, campers can spend some well-earned time at the wellness area.
A multi-sports field sets the scene for a variety of activities such as football, basketball, volleyball and badminton, and group fitness sessions at the site include aerobics and yoga. Children are well catered for at Le Petit Bois, as they can join the Kids Club for fun activities such as cooking, arts & crafts, treasure hunts, team games and foam parties.
Dining options at the resort are excellent, as Restaurant La Voile Blanche offers both local cuisine and familiar favourites such as pizza, in a relaxed and friendly setting. At the more rustic snack bar, campers can enjoy light bites such as salads and sandwiches, as well as ice cream and refreshing drinks. Other services at the resort include a mini-market and bread delivery service.
The peaceful environment of the surrounding area spills over into the campsite, ensuring the emplacements are serene and relaxing. Set into lush green settings with plenty of privacy, our modern mobile homes are a welcome place to retreat to at the end of a busy day of exploration, adventure and discovery.
The whole region around Le Petit Bois is renowned for its mild Mediterranean climate and pristine rivers – four in total - perfect for sports-lovers and swimmers alike. If you’re feeling adventurous there’s endless sporting activities nearby, from swimming to canyoning and rock climbing, and of course canoeing is a fantastic way to explore the beautiful Ardèche River.
The village of Ruoms, just half a mile from the campsite, stands at the confluence of three of the most beautiful rivers of southern Ardèche: Ardèche, La Beaume and Le Chassezac.
The Cirque de Gens is a natural wonder in the Ardèche. It is a great place to walk, swim and one of the biggest climbing sites in the region. From the pleasant village of Vallon-Pont d’Arc (4 mi) you can explore the Ardèche Gorges and Pont d’Arc. If you can tear yourself away from the gorges for a while, visit the Grotte Chauvet, one of the oldest painted caves in the world. Inhabited 32,000 years ago, it’s decorated with fantastic cave paintings.
