Domaine de Chalain is situated on the southern banks of Lac de Chalain, a two-mile drive from the village of Doucier, with its small selection of bars and restaurants. Fifteen miles away is the busy town of Lons-le-Saunier, once a Roman Salt town, where you will find a good range of amenities. The site has direct access to a lakeside beach and a good range of water sports.
The Grottes de Moidons are caves with spectacular stalactites and stalagmites, highlighted by a fantastic sound and light show. Take a 15-mile sightseeing trip on the Ste Claude railway from Morez. The train passes over numerous viaducts and through breathtaking scenery before arriving in Morbier.
