Located in the sunny Languedoc-Roussillon region, Campsite La Maïre is conveniently placed to explore the beauty of the Herault department in the south of France. A family-friendly resort, the site is intimate and lies just 10 miles from the historical town of Béziers and just 600 metres from the beach.
The peaceful surroundings of the campsite will guarantee a relaxing holiday, especially for holidaymakers who choose to lounge around the serene swimming complex. Featuring a main pool as well as a shallow pool and water slides for kids, the swimming area has something for everyone.
For young campers, the site is equipped with trampolines and a playground, while a small multi-use sports pitch hosts games of football and basketball for the whole family. As is the tradition with most French campsites, La Maïre features a petanque court. Entertainment at the resort is family friendly and, in the evening, live music, cabaret acts and dance parties ensure campers enjoy family nights under the stars.
After all that activity, holidaymakers don't have to cook every day… they can pick up something from the take-away or enjoy a nice dinner at the restaurant. The bar area is a great place for sociable drinks or treating the kids to some ice cream.
The campsite is well laid out and features green shade bearing trees to provide respite from the hot sun. The spacious emplacements offer privacy and feature modern mobile homes that are well equipped and comfortable.
Head for the beach at Vias-Plage to enjoy the golden sands and warm water of the Mediterranean. If soaking up the sun is not enough, you can have a go at a range of water sports such as parasailing or kayaking.
Béziers is a beautiful town, perfect for immersing yourself in the culture of Southern France. You can wander through the old streets taking in the history, browsing in the shops and stopping off for a locally made glass of wine. There are also walking routes where you can discover the architecture of Béziers from Romanesque and Gothic periods to the 19th century.
The seaside towns of Adge and Sete are also definitely worth a visit, as is Étang de Thau, a large lagoon lying between the two towns that plays host to all manner of activities including cycling, walking, wine tasting, barge trips and exploring quaint villages.
