Set in an expansive floral landscaped garden in the heart of the Loire Valley, 5* Campsite Bois du Bardelet is a haven of serenity near the charming town of Gien. Peacefulness reigns supreme at this lovely resort in the Loiret department of Pays de la Loire, where a relaxing holiday for families awaits.
As expected from a five-star resort, Bois du Bardelet has excellent facilities and amenities. Holidaymakers can enjoy swimming all year round, as the campsite has both an outdoor pool with water slides and an indoor pool. There is an indoor paddling pool for toddlers as well as a wellness spa for adults. Within the spacious grounds, there are two lakes: one for canoeing and one for fishing.
Young campers can fill their day with so much activity, whether they are playing sports such as football, basketball, ping-pong and tennis, or swinging by the onsite playground. In July and August, the campsite runs a mini club for 6-12year olds that features quizzes, workshops, mini discos and a weekly visit by a local pony. One of the best things to do as a family is to hire bicycles from reception and ride along one of the local area’s many cycle paths.
The ivy-clad stone restaurant and bar, with outdoor decking overlooking the lake, offers a wide choice of regional specialities and wines of the Val de Loire. In the summer months, evening entertainment includes live music. The restaurant offers a takeaway service while the onsite store provides daily essentials.
The quality accommodation options and spacious emplacements with ample privacy and peace ensure you will have a comfortable stay at the resort. Enjoy the natural setting of our pitches, where you can retire to for optimal relaxation.
Just 15 minutes by car from the campsite is the town of Gien, situated on the banks of the Loire River. The town is best known for two things - its long history of pottery production and the Château de Gien situated in the centre of the town. Make a trip after dark when the bridge and castle are beautifully floodlit.
If you are looking to travel a bit further afield, Orléans is about 40 miles North West. Here you can enjoy a stroll through the ancient streets of the city, do a bit of shopping or enjoy a meal in one of the many restaurants.
The best attractions in the local area include Château De Saint-Brisson-sur-Loire, a stunning medieval fortress offering archery, ghost tours, outdoor games and much more, and Beauval Zoo featuring over 4600 animals. Finally, if you get the chance, enjoy a day out to Disneyland Paris - roughly a 2-hour trip from the campsite.
