Overview of La Cote sauvage

Enjoying a generous amount of sunshine each year, Campsite La Côte Sauvage boasts a perfect setting on the gorgeous island of Ile de Ré in Charente-Maritime. Charming coastal attractions and a blissful Atlantic Ocean beach lie within walking distance of the resort, making it your ideal spot for a seaside escape in Nouvelle Aquitaine.

While there is no swimming pool to speak of onsite, you can enjoy paddling around in the inviting waters of the Atlantic Ocean that gently kiss the shores next to the campsite. The soft golden sands are ideal for building castles and relaxing on while you leaf through a good book.

Along with a playground for the children, the site has a few activities such as petanque and table tennis. Plenty more sporting and recreational activities are on offer in the local area, where campers can choose between horse riding, golf, tennis and the splashing good fun of water sports such as windsurfing, paddle boarding and kite surfing.

Guests will have to venture offsite to find restaurants and takeaways, but the local area is home to many nice eating establishments along with a bakery, grocery store and supermarket. Back on the site, campers can make use of the snack bar to keep refuelled throughout the day, as well as a bread delivery service that operates in the months of July and August only.

Perhaps the most memorable aspect of your stay at La Côte Sauvage will be the accommodation. You can embrace nature and enjoy a true camping experience when you book one of our interesting yurts or well-equipped tents, both of which feature spacious living areas and occupy private, peaceful emplacements.

On your doorstep you will find the soft sands and inviting waters of Plage de la Conche des Baleines, while a little further afield, the equally blissful beaches of Plage de Gros Joncs and Plage des Gollandières vie for your attention.

On the very tip of the islands, the famous Phare des Baleines Lighthouse makes for an interesting day trip, while the Lilleau des Niges National Nature Reserve will be a highlight for fans of pleasant walks in an area of outstanding natural beauty.

Stop by the Clocher Observatoire and Notre-Dame-de-Ré Abbey on your way to enjoying a day trip in La Rochelle, which can be reached by crossing the iconic Pont De Re Bridge.
