Located close to a beautiful Atlantic Ocean beach and the magnificent landscapes of Vagueira, Campsite Orbitur Vagueira is the ideal spot for a relaxing holiday in Central Portugal. Lying in a peaceful pine grove, the site is situated 500m from the Ria de Aveiro, and welcomes holidaymakers to enjoy a sunny and idyllic Iberian escape.
As the climate of the region is blissfully balmy, campers can soak up the sun from the modest but inviting swimming complex. Featuring a rectangular training style pool and circular shallow water paddling pool, the aquatic area of the resort caters to every member of the family. There are several loungers located on the spacious sun terrace for those of us that love to work on our tans.
Sporting options at the campsite include football and basketball on the multi-purpose sports field, as well as tennis courts and a pair of outdoor ten pin bowling lanes. To help escape the heat of the midday sun, the resort has a games room with table football and billiards, as well as a children’s playroom. Set in a sandy area, the outdoor playground for children features swings, slides and climbing frames.
There is a range of convenient facilities and services at the campsite including a restaurant, snack bar, self-service laundrette and BBQ rental. There are several other useful amenities located in the nearby town of Vagos such as supermarkets, cafes, and restaurants.
Our spacious, air-conditioned accommodation options feature high terraces and well-equipped kitchenettes, guaranteeing enjoyable moments with your family, partner or friends.
Orbitur Vagueira is an ideal starting point to visit the surrounding area, and is close to magnificent ocean beaches. You can go surfing or body boarding, or just indulge in a spot of sunbathing. The nearest beach to the campsite is Praia da Vagueira, while other beaches with gorgeous wide sands include Praia da Barra and Praia do Areão.
During your holiday, head for Praia de Costa Nova to admire its splendid brightly-coloured houses, or again to Praia da Barra to see the country's largest lighthouse. You can also visit Aveiro, a town nicknamed the Portuguese Venice because of its many canals and “barcos moliceiros”.
Holidaymakers who intend to hire a car should consider a day trip to the vibrant city of Porto, where they can discover amazing tourist attractions such as Bolsa Palace, Porto Cathedral, Casa da Música Museum and the Luís I Bridge.
